Beirne Family Information:
Maggie Beirne was a 31-year old mother. On December 1st, while putting up Christmas decorations, she collapsed from a major seizure and heart attack. There was no hope of recovery, and at 10:30am on December 6th, Maggie died. She left behind an adoring husband and beautiful 19-month old twins. Here is their story.
Maggie Sullivan and Kevin Beirne, students at Catholic University, met while participating in a Habitat for Humanity trip to Mississippi to build homes for those in need. They shared a common love of helping others from the moment they met.
They were married in March 2004 and settled in Washington DC. Their son and daughter were born two months early in April, 2006. An article of the family’s early experiences was featured in the Mother’s Day Sunday section of the Washington Post. This article served as an inspiration for many new parents struggling with the challenges of nurturing premature infants.
Maggie worked as a social worker in DC and Kevin is a teacher and head of the English department at St. John’s College High School. Both received their Master’s degrees in their professions. Once again, they chose to serve so that others could prosper.
With the sudden death of Maggie, Kevin and his 2 toddlers need help. With your financial contribution, we can help lighten some of the burden and allow this family to begin to focus on the next chapter of their new life.
If Maggie and Kevin’s story and their dedication to helping others has inspired you to help, please consider a donation. No contribution is considered too small.
